If you are not an early person, it’s probably hard for you to look fresh and full of energy at 7 in the morning. However, you are not all out of hope. Many men are in your situation, in fact, most of us are. In this article I will let you in on the most important practices that will help you look your best and perform perfectly, even if you have to wake up before the sunrise. Some of these tricks are even used by soldiers, so they are pretty much guaranteed to work.

1. Get enough sleep

snooze

If you want to start you day fresh, you should get enough sleep. You can make a compromise after the weekend  in case you had a lazy Sunday and only get 6 hours of sleep, but after an active and soliciting day, 8 hours of sleep is a must. Make sure your sleep environment is peaceful, with no light, noise or cigarette smoke to irritate you- make it your cocoon.

2. Don’t hit the snooze button

watch

The biggest NO when it comes to waking up is not hitting the snooze button for 10 more minutes of sleep. The moment you fall asleep, no matter for how long, your body releases sleep hormones. If you wake up and fall asleep again, those hormones will pile up and stay in your body throughout the day, giving you a cranky mood and make you look like you’re still sleeping. I don’t say to jump out of bed the moment your alarm goes on, but do it in the first five minutes after you wake up.

3. Hit the kitchen

The greatest way to start a good day and look your best is to get a good breakfast. Have your breakfast in the first 30 minutes after you wake up and eat something rich in proteins. Before you eat, have a glass of fresh water. It will help your body turn on your organs, because you get dehydrated during the night. Never do drugs on an empty stomach- and by drugs I do mean coffee and cigarettes. Don’t put poisons into your body the minute it wakes up.

4. Get in the right mood

Looking good is closely related to how you feel. The best way to get in the right mood for a long day is to play your favorite songs during the morning rituals. Sing along in the shower, dance while you brush your teeth and maintain a positive attitude. Try not to think about work in the first hour after you wake up. If possible, reserve two hours for your morning ritual. That way, you will perceive your work as another part of your day and not as the only purpose for which you woke up.

5. Push-ups

Starting your day with 50 push-ups before the shower is a great way of releasing endorphins that will make your skin look good, your eyes look lively, and it’s a great way of staying in shape. It will only take 5 minutes, but they will do wonders for your overall look.

As you can see, we avoid talking about shaving, brushing and combing, since those are things every man does in the morning anyway- hopefully. Add these habits to your morning routine and the results will start to show up from the very first day.
