Sports luxe has seen a huge rise over recent years. It’s perfectly acceptable now to wear sportswear outside of the gym and to rock the “athleisure” trend at work or when you’re out. From Prada to Alexander Wang, even high-end brands have recently launched sports luxe collections, bringing your average gym wear to a whole new level on the catwalk.

To step up your fashion game this summer, we’re bringing you some sports luxe outfit ideas to get some fresh inspiration.

T-Shirt and Joggers Combination

Joggers are not commonly seen as fashionable, but it’s all about balancing it right! Rather than wearing a head-to-toe men’s tracksuit, break it up and create volume-contrast by either wearing your baggy sweatpants with a fitted T-shirt or a hoody with skinny jeans. For your joggers, choose a neutral colour such as black or grey, but try to experiment with colourful prints when it comes to your T-shirts. Check out brands such as Good for Nothing and Carhartt that offer a wide variety of sports luxe hoodies, sweats, T-shirts and jogging bottoms.

The Blazer

Bomber jackets are the must-own piece of outerwear when it comes to creating an athletic silhouette, but you don’t always have to dress casually all the way. For more formal occasions, combine your T-shirt and joggers with a tailored jacket for a sporty chic look. Blazers originally derived from the sports jacket, but tend to have a slimmer fit and can even be worn as part of a suit. They’re the prime example of how sportswear is moving towards luxury, having now become an integral part of smart wear. Go back to the basics of the blazer and combine it with your sports outfit, adding a smarter touch.

Couture Trainers

To finish off your sports luxe outfit, get your hands on some fashionable couture trainers. Whereas trainers were once associated with the practical and the functional, loads of 90s and 00s trainers have made a comeback this year. Prime examples are Adidas’ white Stan Smith trainers or Nike’s range of running shoes. Even Dior has launched his own collection of men and women’s trainers, proving how sportswear has officially become fashionable… if you wear it right!
